The Black Hawk has a white printable panel on the front, set into the black glaze, which takes a sublimation print. Sublimation ink is a dye printed onto transfer paper and then heat pressed onto the panel, where it embeds into the coated surface with no ink build-up, so the image is vivid, permanent and part of the panel rather than sitting on top of it. Because the panel is white, light tones reproduce well and it suits full colour artwork, gradients and closely matched spot colours, with one setup charge regardless of the number of colours. Metallic, neon and fluorescent colours cannot be reproduced, and fine detail or small text may show minor colour bleed. The print panel is 208mm x 85mm, and artwork should be set up to fill it against the black surround.
