The Chameleon is a round 330ml stoneware coffee mug with a single wall and a thermochromic coating that reads solid black when cold. Add a hot drink and the coating turns clear, revealing a full colour design, which fades back to black as the mug cools.
The Chameleon is branded by sublimation for the design that appears with heat, and it can also take a pad print overprint on the black coating that stays visible hot or cold. It arrives in a natural gift box with an optional printed sleeve available at extra cost, and individual name personalisation is available at an additional cost. Handwashing is recommended to preserve branding.

Branding Options
Sublimation print carries the design that appears when the mug is hot. The ink is a dye heat pressed onto the mug and sealed under the thermochromic coating, so a hot drink turns the black coating clear and the full colour design shows through, then fades back as it cools. It suits full colour artwork, gradients and closely matched spot colours, with one setup charge regardless of the number of colours. White, metallic and neon colours cannot be reproduced. The sublimation area is 225mm x 92mm and wraps around the mug without extending onto the handle.
Pad print is available as an overprint on top of the black coating, so this branding stays visible whether the mug is hot or cold. It suits a sharp logo or clean text, each colour with its own setup charge, in a 50mm x 30mm area on one side. As it sits over the coating, it cannot be registered exactly with the sublimation design underneath.

The Chameleon is made from stoneware with a white gloss glazed interior and a thermochromic coating over the outer. The coating reads solid black at room temperature and turns clear as it warms, which reveals the design and gives the mug its colour-change effect. At 330ml it holds a standard everyday cup, with a curved handle and a solid, quality weight.
Care and Longevity
Handwashing is essential to protect the thermochromic coating and the print. The coating is more delicate than a standard glaze, and a dishwasher's high heat, harsh detergents and water jets will wear it down and weaken the colour-change effect over time. Washing gently by hand with warm water and a mild detergent keeps the reveal working and the design sharp. Looked after this way, the Chameleon will keep its effect through a long life of use.
Custom Gift Box Wraps
Optional full colour gift box wraps add an extra branding layer to selected drinkware items, including bottles, ceramic mugs and reusable coffee cups. The wrap is digitally printed edge to edge in full colour, creased, folded and formed into a sleeve that slides over the gift box for a clean branded presentation.
This option is well suited to detailed artwork, gradients, patterns, campaign graphics and personalised branding. Sleeves are printed edge to edge, allowing the full wrap area to be customised without changing the gift box itself.
Variable Data Option
For an additional cost, gift box wraps can also be personalised with individual names or variable data. Personalised sleeves are useful for staff onboarding packs, client gifts, conferences and event merchandise where individual presentation is required. A personalisation surcharge applies per line.
Artwork Requirements
Artwork can be supplied in editable vector format or as high-resolution bitmap artwork. Supplied bitmap files should be over 300DPI at the actual print size, and a 3mm bleed should be added where artwork runs to the edge of the sleeve.
