Rio Pen
Description
The Rio Pen is a retractable aluminium ballpoint pen with a lacquered barrel and soft-touch grip. Coloured pens have a gloss lacquered barrel finish, while the silver version has a matt lacquered finish. The grip has a matt finish and is made from ABS. Shiny chrome trim is used on the clip and ring details, adding contrast to the barrel and grip. The pen uses a Parker-style plastic refill with 1200 metres of black writing ink and a 1mm nib. Branding is available by pad print or laser engraving in positions D and E.

On the Rio Pen, pad print branding is available in positions D and E, with a maximum branding area of 50 x 7mm. This method is suited to solid colour logos and text within the confirmed branding area. It is not suited to photographic artwork or full-colour gradients.
Laser engraving is a permanent branding process that removes the barrel surface using a laser. On this pen, laser engraving is available in positions D and E, with a maximum branding area of 50 x 7mm. The supplier-confirmed engraving finish is oxidised white, creating contrast against the lacquered barrel. This method is suited to logos, names and fine line artwork, but it does not reproduce colour.
