Pad Print
Pad printing uses a silicone pad to transfer artwork from a laser etched printing plate onto the pen surface. For the rolling ball pen, branding is available on positions F and H with a maximum size of 50mm x 5mm, or positions G and I with a maximum size of 35mm x 5mm. For the ballpoint pen, branding is available on positions G, F, I and H with a maximum size of 35mm x 5mm. Pad print is suited to sharp, clean logos and text, with close PMS matches possible on lighter surfaces. Halftones cannot be consistently reproduced, variable data is not available, and each colour requires its own setup charge. Artwork must be supplied in editable vector format, with fonts converted to outlines or objects.
Laser Engraving
Laser engraving is a permanent branding process that engraves artwork into the surface of the pen using a laser. The stainless steel barrels engrave to a natural etch finish, while the coloured brass barrels engrave to a mirror finish.
Laser engraving becomes part of the pen surface and is suited to clean logos, names, and text. Fine detail can be lost on smaller branding areas, so simpler artwork with clear spacing is recommended. Pre-production samples are recommended where the engraving finish needs to be confirmed. Artwork must be supplied in editable vector format, with fonts converted to outlines or objects.
Design Features
This set combines the LAMY Studio ballpoint pen with the LAMY Studio rolling ball pen. The ballpoint pen uses a twist-action mechanism, while the rolling ball pen uses a removable cap. Both pens share the same propeller inspired clip design, shiny chrome trim, and matching barrel finishes. The silver option uses brushed stainless steel, while the blue and black options use brass with matte finishes.
